Welcome to the Hopi Tribal Court's website. Hopi Courts interpret and apply laws relating to the Hopi Tribal Constitution and By-Laws, Hopi Ordinances, Hopi Tribal Resolutions, customs, traditions, and culture of the Hopi Tribe, federal laws, rules, and regulations, rules, and laws of the State of Arizona and common law.

The Hopi Courts do not recognize or apply federal, state or common laws, which are inconsistent with either the spirit or letter of Hopi laws, custom, tradition, or culture. Hopi Tribal Council Resolution, H-12-76

The Hopi Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedures govern the procedures in trial and appellate courts in all actions and proceedings. Hopi Tribal Council Resolution, H-30-74

The Hopi Courts operate independently of the executive and legislative branches of the Hopi tribal government. Hopi Tribal Council Resolution, H-14-96

The Hopi Courts do not make the laws nor do the courts carry out the executive function of the tribal government. These are the functions of the Hopi Tribal Council.

We invite you to explore the Courts' website and to visit the Hopi Courts. We are constantly looking for ways to better serve the public, and we hope this website will provide more information about the Hopi Judicial Branch and the Hopi Tribal Courts.

Before proceeding, please read the disclaimer statement.

Thank you,
